Descripción del puesto
We are looking for a passionate, flexible and qualified Earth Sciences Teacher who has an excellent track record teaching Environmental Management (or Systems & Societies) and/or Geography (IB/IGCSE experience desired), mainly responsible for teaching students in years 8 to 12 (13 to 17 years old). The successful candidate will inspire and engage students in the exploration of scientific concepts and environmental issues, global citizenship, sustainability, and their real-world applications.
Description of the role
- Create an intentional learning environment for every student in their charge that is engaging, challenging, relevant and varied and provides every child with the opportunity to flourish, achieve and excel.
- Design deep learning tasks and authentic experiences that scaffold thinking and levels of complexity in order to develop the school competencies (creativity, communication, critical thinking, character, collaboration, and citizenship).
- Use a variety of learning and assessment strategies to personalise the learning process.
- Committed to the care of the students in their charge by providing guidance and support through the monitoring of progress, setting of improvement strategies, forwarding and seeking information when necessary and assisting in the process of student development and evaluation.
- Actively implement, uphold and support School values and School and Department policies.
- Actively participate in the various teams to which he/she belongs.
- Active learner who systematically updates knowledge and skills through training opportunities.
- Identify and utilize skills and expertise from within our community that could enhance the learning of our students and to seek opportunities for the students and school to participate and contribute to community activities.

Professional competencies

- Proficient in both English and Spanish.
